ICN Professional Status System

ICN offers a clear pathway from amateur competition to professional status. Understanding the difference between Pro Qualifier (PQ) Status and an ICN Pro Card is essential for athletes pursuing elite-level competition.

This system ensures that professional status is earned through exceptional performance while providing multiple pathways for athletes to achieve their goals.

Pro Qualifier (PQ) Status

What is PQ Status?

Pro Qualifier (PQ) Status is awarded for 12 months and applies only to the category in which it is earned. It serves as a bridge between top-level amateur competition and full professional status.

PQ Status does NOT automatically confer professional status

What PQ Status Allows You To Do:

  • Enter Pro League Compete in ICN Pro League events in your qualified category
  • Enter Gold Class Compete in Gold Class divisions where offered
  • Amateur Divisions Continue competing in amateur divisions (in accordance with division rules)

How to Earn PQ Status

State-Level Events

  • Winning the Overall Title within a category earns PQ Status

National-Level Events

  • Winning an Open Division within a category earns PQ Status

International-Level Events

  • Winning any division within a category earns PQ Status

ICN Pro Card

What is an ICN Pro Card?

An ICN Pro Card represents full professional status within a specific category and allows the athlete to compete in ICN Pro events worldwide in that category without further qualification.

This is the ultimate achievement in natural bodybuilding — full ICN Professional status

 

How to Earn an ICN Pro Card

National

  • Overall Title
    Win the in your category at a National Championship Citizens or permanent residents only

International

  • Open Division
    Win an Open Division in your category at an International event

State W/PQ

  • Gold Class Division
    State level Invitational Pro Event that requires Pro Card, PQ Holder or Invitation. Winner-only pathway – no Top 3.

Pro League

  • Pro League Top 3
    Professional-level competition. For PQ or PRO Card holders only.

Gold Class

What is Gold Class?

Gold Class is a special division available at select State-level events for athletes who hold valid Pro Qualifier Status in that category.

Gold Class Pathway:

  • Entry requires valid PQ Status in the category
  • Available at select State-level events
  • Winning a Gold Class Division earns an ICN Pro Card<

There is NO Top 3 pathway in Gold Class — only the WINNER earns the Pro Card

ICN Pro League

What is the ICN Pro League?

The ICN Pro League brings together the highest-level athletes from around the world to compete at professional events within their qualified category. Athletes may earn prize money and professional recognition.

Entry Requirements

  • Valid Pro Qualifier Status in the category you wish to compete in

Pro Card Pathway

  • Placing Top 3 in a Pro League division earns an ICN Pro Card
